All Day Card

It's taken me all day to create this card. Along with various other jobs I just could not find the right combination...and I still think it needs some ribbon, so the next one will have ribbon. This will be one of my 'to do' jobs over Christmas break.

  1. Make 10 cards
  2. Arrange family pictures above fireplace I have the 3m picture mounts so I don't have to worry about nail holes
  3. Place vinyl lettering in kitchen area (I've had the saying for over a year)

No School Day

Not much snow...but I guess I won't complain about no school. I'll be spending a few hours there today anyway...OH WELL!

Merry Snowy Christmas!

Merry Christmas

I'm looking forward to the holiday break. Maybe I'll be in the mood to make a few cards and there will be sugarplums dancing in my head. It seems like I've been so busy these past weeks that there has been no time on the weekends for card making. Hopefully that will change with a couple weeks away from school.

Next week is our family Christmas and then it will be time to enjoy the rest of Advent and Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone will have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember that there is so much to be thankful. When we think about the good things it causes us to complain less about those events in our lives we can't control.

Happy

Just received a call that there will be a two hour late start at school. --we're experiencing our first snow--

This gives me a chance to post the picture for my last swap. Birthday swap at SCS.

Hello

I have my cards finished for the SCS swap. I hope to post them tomorrow. I had the 'stuff' all done just needed to put it all together.

Nice day here today. This morning I attended a reading council meeting. We had a professor from Doane College present the 7 reading strategies needed for students to become successful readers...VERY GOOD...thank you Julie. The state reading site is Nebraska Reading Association

This afternoon found me mowing...hopefully this activity is about over for the year.

Hello!

Not only am I super busy teaching in the public school system, I also teach 1-2 grade religion class after school on Wednesday...

I'm hoping to find time this weekend to finish a project for a birthday card swap. It's not due until Nov.1, but most of my weekends are busy and full until then...

Wish me luck in stamping tomorrow.

Designer Paper

Here's the latest creation from my craft table for a SCS designer paper swap.

It's windy here today. I mowed after coming home from church...and the push mower had something go wrong so the blade never quit working AND when I tried the riding lawn mower the blade quit cutting just before I was ready to quit. Good thing the lawn is about ready to need less of my attention.

No plans for Labor Day. Hopefully I'll be able to make a few cards after I finish with end of-the-month paper work for our convenience store.

Happy non-LABORing DAY

Latest!!

My latest swap...new SU stamp and paper.

I need to take a few photography lessons...my last photos are so dark. Maybe I should take pictures using natural light.

Busy week with school starting. I hope next week goes as well..although I need to get back into a routine :)

Yet Another

This didn't photograph as well as I had hoped. The square is a thank you embossed. The black is embossed (of course swiss dot). The elementary teachers are invited to a noon luncheon at a local church this Tuesday, so I'm ahead of the game with a thank you already made. :)

I'm waiting for my SU order to come Tuesday. I ordered poppy red paper, the border bunch, and...I can't remember all !

Thank You

YEA!! I'm a candy winner. Thank you to Clearly Delightful
for giving me the chance to win such nice blog candy.

I've been busy this past week getting my classroom ready for students this Wednesday :)...but hopefully this weekend I'll be prepared and can stamp and create.

Sweet

Here's my take on a swap for sweet cards. How much sweeter does it get than a new baby girl?

This will probably be my last swap until I feel like I'm ready at school. I only have one card made for this swap, but I'm hoping to get the rest done either today or tomorrow.

Happy Weekend

School

School's about here and I've been busy with getting ready and not stamping at all :(

I have one more swap to complete before I start back. The basics have been decided upon so all I need to do is get busy and construct.

Making more podcasts for my Princess Podcasting page didn't happen this summer either. I only managed to get one done...what did I accomplish this summer?

Simply Simple

Here's my latest contribution to the SCS swaps. It's a simple swap and I must say this card was rather quick and easy to make. But I like the way it turned out.

I'm off to a church meeting tomorrow. I help teach the 1 & 2nd graders so we're having a curriculum review before classes start.

Happy weekend.

Go Girl SWAP

Why do I continue to participate in swaps? It seems it's the motivation I need to make more than one of a kind card. Usually after I've made a card, I don't want to make another one like it. With a swap I don't have a choice.
For this card I used Lasting Impressions paper along with my swiss dot embossing folder...I love it!

Happy Creating!

Embossing Swap

Here's the card I created for a SCS swap. It was to use embossing. I tried various layouts (some with ribbon, more border...) but decided that less is more.

My vacation was great. Here's a picture I took of the Eiffel Tower. We ate dinner at the 95 Altitude Cafe in the tower. Not all the group came down the tower in the same elevator and as I was chatting to others, there was an Irish man who asked if I was from Montana...No I said-Nebraska. He'd been in Montana a month before and recognized the midwest accent.

Garden Time

My last swap until I'm back from vacation :) {7-20-08}

The was a garden swap at SCS.

Happy stamping and swapping!

button swap

Yet another SCS swap completed. For this swap I needed to use a button (or two-I just used one since I'm in an area that has limited button selection--1.5 hours from a craft store). I used AGAIN the swiss dot embossing folder for the border, a SU set my daughter gave me, and paper piecing for the heart.

When the button was in the store it looked like it would match the green from the paper, but once I had it on the card it's more yellow. This must be why I don't embellish more often! Such is the life of a stamper.

Happy Stamping

RED

Here's my take on a red card swap for SCS (not sure why the photo is so dark). The pattern is the same for the lat post...I really liked the border with the swiss dot embossing.

I'm not checking for any more swaps on SCS ...not that I don't want to...because I have Bible School next week and I need to be focusing my time and thoughts in that direction.

My itinerary and travel plans for my July trip should be in the mail Monday. I'm looking forward to a few days away.

Have a safe & fun filled weekend.

Swiss Dot

Here's another swap I'm participating in from SCS. I LOVE the way the swiss dot embossing looks on the border... OK, back to work. Five more cards to finish.

Have a good weekend.

YEA! for summer...and the bees

The mowing is done, the trees are trimmed, the flowers are water...and time to stamp. Here's the card I made for a 'sweet' swap at scs. I plan on putting a bit-of-honey on the inside with the stamp sentiment-bee happy.

I'm downloading the HBO series "Rome", so my connection is slooowww. Since I don't watch tv, I'm hoping it's worth watching.

Keep smiling...keep stamping...keep being happy!

Flower Power!!

Can you tell I like flowers...it must be that I like spring and summer the best. Here's my latest swap over at SCS.

I like my cards from the last swap better...but oh well!

Finished

I really like the way these swap cards turned out. I'm sure my swap hostess just hates to see me participate because none of my cards are identical. I start out and make a few changes and what do you know...not one of the cards is exactly alike.

Have a good day stamping. It's cloudy, damp, and dreary here, so I'm really in the mood to just snuggle into a chair and read. I did finish #1 Shredderman. A perfect story for the boys in my 4th grade class next fall, so I need to get more in the series. This is a perfect story for compare/contrast with main characters. You have Nolan, a nerd, and Alvin, a bully. The story's problem is solved by the hero, Nolan (Shredderman), using technology to resolve the bullying issue.

Surprise!

Surprise Saturday!

I'm able to show a few of the cards I'm making for a swap due in June. I'm still trying to decide what to add to the top. I like the way the base turned out.

Hopefully, with me out of school on Wednesday I'll become a card maker extraordinaire!

Ready to Reflect

It's that time of year with school just about over and I need awhile to reflect on the year and what was good...and what wasn't so good. I hope to be crafting in a few weeks. With no more online classes I should be able to create those cards by the truckload! Maybe with a chocolate theme would be good-YUM

Pressure

Pressure!!

That's what I call it when your daughter lists your blog on her site. I have completed two card swaps...but I was so hurried to get them in the mail that I failed to snap a photo.

I have 2 papers, 1 quiz, and 1 chapter to read for the completion of my last class before my masters. SO watch out summer. I shouldn't have anything to do but make cards.

I have been busy making podcasts and movies with my 4th graders. Check out my site, Princess Podcasting.

Happy Blogging...Happy Stamping!

OH my gosh!

I can't believe it's almost the end of the month and I haven't posted since the 5th.

I've been busy with school (I'm counting down the days until I get my masters), attending a  reading conference, and thinking about a trip to NYC in less than 10 days.

I've started podcasting with my class. Click on the link and then try the podcast link.

Demonstration Samples

I'm having a group of ladies here at the end of the month and rather than just sit around and drink coffee and gossip...we're going to make valentine cards. Here are a few samples to share with my group.

This should be an easy and fun way to spend a few hours with friends.

Any suggestions for a light snack...since I'm sure we'll still be sticking to our new year's resolutions :)

ps I took this photo in the bathroom since the lighting is better (it's evening here) and oops! you can see my toothbrush and part of my hair brush...Can you tell I'm not a professional at this?

Motivated

With the grandsons here, it was motivation for me to make cards while they watched a movie in the evening.

Grandchildren are blessings one gets for getting older :)

Off to a Good Year

Another set of SCS swap cards done. I do enjoy doing this if I have the time. The paper and brads are from Hobby Lobby. The sentiments are rub-ons I've had for awhile.

Not much stamping today. I'm meeting a friend for lunch and then it's grocery shopping since there are 3 grandsons here---and boy do they eat!
